What we know so far
- Official PC target: 90 FPS in Multiplayer on High at the recommended spec (RX 6600 XT, RTX 3060 Ti or Arc B580 with a Ryzen 5 3600 or Core i7-8700K and 16 GB). callofduty.com
- 4K at max settings is heavy even on top cards. Early-access players on Steam posted 75 FPS on an RTX 5080 at native 4K without ray tracing (MinTea, Steam, 20 Oct) and 70 FPS on an RTX 4090 at 4K with DLSS Quality (BERZERK47, Steam, 18 Oct).
- 1440p is far easier: about 120 FPS on an RTX 4090 at High to Ultra without upscaling (Earanak, Steam, 20 Oct) and 280+ on an RX 9070 XT at minimum settings with High textures (@MILAZY, Steam, 17 Oct).
- Enhanced FOV costs frames: two players say turning it off gained them about 30 FPS (alien_tickler, Steam, 17 Oct) and 20 FPS (kiryusha, Steam, 17 Oct).
- Ray tracing is the biggest single cost: the same RTX 4090 at 1440p dropped from about 120 FPS to about 50 with RT on High (Earanak, above). One player reports the upscaler setting locks while RT is on (Shay, Steam, 18 Oct).
- Switch 2: the developer's target is 60 FPS in docked Multiplayer; handheld was around 44 FPS before launch. Xbox Series X|S had 60 Hz and 120 Hz modes in the beta. Details below.
- Before launch day: install the Xbox PC app, whichever store you bought from, so Advanced Shader Delivery can download precompiled shaders. callofduty.com
Player figures are from early access (Campaign, then DMZ from 20 October). Multiplayer opens on 23 October, so expect them to move. Each one is quoted as posted and linked below.

Ran the built-in benchmark?
MW4's Benchmark Tool (in the graphics settings) runs a simulated Multiplayer sequence and shows average FPS with CPU and GPU figures. A screenshot of its results screen, or of any FPS counter during a match, is enough to add your result (PC, PS5, Xbox or Switch 2). It's shown as Community reported once a person has checked it.
